Our mission is to help teachers achieve this by providing personalized support and professional development offerings that can be done in person or virtually. Our dedicated and experienced professional development team will work alongside you to develop a customized plan aligned with your goals and objectives.

Custom Professional Learning

Our ongoing support helps empower educators. At the start of every implementation, Defined Learning provides a single point of contact to ensure the onboarding process is as simple and smooth as possible. We also have a support team of former educators who provide onboarding webinar trainings free for all districts using our programs. Technical and program support is also included and available Monday through Friday.

Defined Learning offers a range of support to help schools and district leaders scale and personalize professional development from in-person training to online courses and virtual coaching. We offer foundational and advanced professional learning opportunities to meet the needs of educators across every stage of learning. These professional learning experiences support educators in their use of Defined Learning in all environments, with a focus on Project Based Learning (PBL).


Intro to Project Based Learning Strategies (Asynchronous)

We provide the resources and encourage teachers to undergo online professional development programming at their own pace — featuring Jay McTighe. Participants will work through four modules and identify and customize a performance task and resources for their classroom use.

Project Based Learning Processes & Pedagogy (Synchronous)

Defined Learning team members lead teachers through outlined programming virtually in real-time. This professional learning experience is designed to introduce participants to the purpose, design, and implementation of Defined Learning in the classroom.

Project Based Learning Leadership Cohort (Hybrid)

Combining both learning and leadership into a program designed to build and sustain a culture of project based learning. Upon successful completion of the Project Based Learning Cohort, educators can participate in the Advanced version of the cohort.

These professional learning experiences support educators as they deepen their understanding of Project Based Learning (PBL) to meet the needs of all learners through instructional support.

Advanced Project Based Learning Leadership Cohort (Hybrid)

Designed to focus on mentoring and collegial coaching using a modified lesson study format supported by a Defined Learning mentor. Various resources supporting the use of Defined Learning and project-based learning will be shared throughout the program.

Digital Micro-Credentials (Asynchronous)

Competency-based form of certification developed and issued based upon personalized professional learning experiences supporting an educator’s application of skills and knowledge. Each micro-credential is an assessment of a specific competency with the educator applying their knowledge and skills to create a specific product, reflection, and application demonstrating competence of the attribute.
